Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina)

Widely forking fuzzy branches resemble deer antlers in winter, thus the “stag horn” moniker.  Grows 15-30 feet tall.  colony-forming shrub tends to form thickets.  Brilliant red fall foliage. Female plants bear fuzzy, bright red berries in pyramidal clusters.
