American Plum (Prunus americana)

Keystone species. Flowers May to June; Fruit: August to October. Used by game birds and mammals. Supports dozens of species of insects, birds, and other animals. Edible, small fruit better for cooking than fresh eating.  Soil/site dry to moist. Plant 15 feet apart for maximum fruiting. Mature height: 15-20 feet
