Also known as Yellowbud Hickory after the color of its buds. A medium to large, strong wooded, deciduous tree. Grows best in medium to wet, well-drained soils but can survive in flood zones and drought once established. Matures to 50-80′ with a 30-50′ spread. Grows in full sun. Increased interest in the nut for oil production. Regardless, it is an excellent shade and wildlife tree. Native to Massachusetts.
