Produces edible nuts for humans and wildlife, that are easy to open.  Mature height of 15’–18′ and a spread of 10’–12′ as it is a multi-stemmed, clumping plant. Fast growing. Can produce nuts 2 years after planting.  Plant in multiples to ensure pollination. Leaves turn orange to red or purple in fall. Full to partial sun. Native to Massachusetts.
