Join us Wednesday, October 24th for WCCD’s Annual Meeting, Pot Luck Dinner and Outdoor Presentation by Red Apple Farm’s Bill Rose. We will begin promptly at 4:30.
We’ve invited Gerry Palano, MDAR’s Renewable Energy Coordinator to speak on the Agricultural Climate Resiliency & Efficiencies (ACRE) program. This is a competitive, reimbursement grant program that funds materials and labor for the implementation of practices that address the agricultural sector’s vulnerability to climate change, improves economic resiliency and advances the general goals identified in the Massachusetts Local Action Food Plan. Massachusetts Conservation Districts are eligible to apply solely for no-till equipment that will be utilized by agricultural operations.
Then we’ll walk the farm with Bill Rose, 2nd generation farmer of Red Apple Farm, and discuss best management practices on this 100 year old, 4th generation New England farm.
This will be followed by the best potluck dinner in the barn! WCCD is providing meat entree, beverages, and paper products.
Bring a salad or side dish.
