Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens glauca)

Long, silvery blue needles. Excellent shape with good growth rate. Wonderful ornamental or closely planted for a hedge. Grows to 50-75′ at maturity at a medium rate. Well adapted to many soils and moisture levels. Grows fastest in full sun.

Frasier Fir (Abies fraseri)

Shiny dark green color needles formed in a spiral like crown to the top of the tree. Very fragrant and attractive shape makes it a favorite Christmas Tree. Grows to 45-75′ at maturity. Prefers moist, well drained acidic soils and grows best in full to partial sun.

Concolor Fir

Long blue green needles forming tightly on its branches. Highly ornamental evergreen and tolerance for harsh environments makes it ideal in urban areas. A very popular Christmas Tree. Grows to a maturity of 30-50’at a medium rate. Tolerates most soils and has a moderate tolerance to drought. Does well in full and partial sun.

Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii)

A noble fir tree, highly valued for its lumber and use for a Christmas Tree. Grows to a maturity of 80′. Unique pine cones and very fragrant needles grow uniformly across the branches. Great tolerance to wet soils and harsh growing conditions. Grows well in partial and full sun.

Norway Spruce (Picea abies)

Highly adaptable tree with many ecological uses including as a Christmas Tree. Dense branching and dark green needles make it a New England favorite. Grows 40-60′ at maturity at a medium to fast growth rate. Full sun is ideal, in most soil profiles. Had moderate tolerance to drought.

Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea)

Close relative to the Frasier. Ideal Christmas Tree shape and fragrance. Tightly formed needles with bright green color. Grows 45-75′ at maturity. Grows best in full and partial sun exposure, prefering moist, well drained, acidic soil.
